Debi Mazar, also known as Deborah Debi Mazar, is a popular American actress. Debi was born to Nancy and Harry Mazar in Queens, New York. Her father belonged to a Jewish family and her mother was a Catholic but later converted to Judaism, and then became a Buddhist. She made the debut of her acting career as a hip-hop b-girl in the New York City. She made her TV debut in 1984 on an episode of a hip hop television dance show ‘Graffiti Rock’. Debi also made appearance on four music videos of Madonna such as Papa Don’t Preach, True Blue, Deeper and Deeper and Music etc. She also made minor appearances on several movies such as ‘GoodFellas‘, The Doors, Bullets over Broadway, and Batman Forever. In early 1990s, Debi played an important character on Civil Wars and became a well known name. She reprised the same role on the 1993-94 season of the TV drama ‘LA Law’. In the popular 1993 family movie Beethoven’s 2nd Debi portrayed the character of villain Regina. She also ahs appeared on the independent movies such as ‘Inside Monkey Zetterland’ and Nowhere etc. In the Space Monkey’s video ‘Sugarcane’, Debi appeared as the Genie. In an episode of Friends, Mazar portrayed an important character of ‘Doreen, the Evil Bitch’. From 2000-2002, she appeared as ‘Jackie’ on the television drama ‘That’s Life’. As of now, she’s appearing on ‘Entourage‘, as a supporting character. On the sitcom ‘Living with Fran’, Debi portrayed the character of Merrill, Fran Drescher’s cousin. Debi Mazar portrays Leah Stillman on ‘Ugly Betty‘, a scam artist.
Debi is married to Gabriele Corcos. They married on March 16, 2002 and the couple has two daughters namely Evelyn Maria and Giulia Isabel. As of now, they’re hosting a successful internet show focused on Tuscan cuisine: Under the Tuscan Gun. They own two homes, one in Los Angeles and a fourteenth century house outside of Florence.
